Elections BC is looking for enthusiastic individuals to support the delivery of the October 2026 Provincial General Election. In each provincial electoral district, the District Electoral Officer (DEO) opens an office and hires a team of staff to support election operations.

  • ensures the smooth and efficient management of day-to-day operations in the district electoral office
  • guides and supervises the work of office support staff
$28.60/hr
  • coordinates and delivers classroom training to election officials employed in the electoral district
  • ensures that election officials have received the job-specific training necessary to perform their duties
$28.60/hr
  • coordinates a team of Election Equipment Officers to ensure the smooth functioning of office technology
  • ensures that technology services in the district electoral office and in voting places are provided in accordance with Elections BC technology policies and instructions
$28.60/hr
  • sets up office automation technology in the district electoral office
  • prepares voting technology by installing database updates and updating software
  • conducts tabulator logic and accuracy testing prior to deployment to voting places
$26.40/hr
  • supports the effective and efficient hiring of election officials for the electoral district
  • organizes and maintains applicant and employee records
  • tracks and reports on recruitment progress
  • assists the DEO with making selection decisions

  • performs general administrative duties, such as data entry, answering inquiries, administering voting and supply management
  • supports recruitment and training activities
  • oversees reception and provides client service

Local DEOs will make hiring decisions, and balance hiring experienced staff who have worked in past elections with applicants who are new to the electoral process.
